In order to address the pain points and challenges of leather scrap, leather trim, and the disposal of leather waste in leather goods and footwear enterprises, and to break through the bottleneck issues hindering industry development, on June 8, 2022, the Guangdong Leather Association organized a special seminar on "New Eco-friendly Regenerated Leather" in Huadu. The event brought together relevant member companies to explore solutions for the disposal of leather scraps and waste, turning challenges into opportunities, and creating new value through recycling. The goal is to reduce pollution and enhance resource utilization, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly industry.
Leveraging the cross-disciplinary integration of leather, textiles, and machinery, animal protein fibers from leather trim and scraps are extracted using advanced technologies. These fibers are then spun into yarns and threads through textile processes, ultimately crafting a new type of regenerated leather. This innovative approach breathes new life into leather waste, uncovering untapped value. The patented technology behind this regenerated leather imparts remarkable strength, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including shoes, bags, apparel, sofas, automotive interiors, carpets, and home furnishings. With such versatility, the market prospects for this novel regenerated leather are expansive and promising!
In his address, Guo Zhongjie, the President of the Guangdong Leather Association, emphasized that the association consistently organizes targeted events on issues of concern to its members and the industry. These events aim to address meaningful and practical matters for everyone involved. He called on member units and the industry at large to pay more attention to and support the association's work. Guo encouraged active participation by offering themes, constructive opinions, and suggestions. He emphasized the power of collective efforts, urging everyone to contribute jointly to the better development of the industry.
